Trip Down Under - Sept 2010
Day 55 - Coffs Harbour

On the road again.... Byron Bay to Coffs Harbour. We stopped at Grafton for a break and asked at the i-Site about the trees with lilac-coloured flowers and leared that they are called Jacaranda trees. Grafton in reknowned for their Jacaranda Festival at the end of October.

At Coffs Harbour we drove to Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve in the hopes of seeing some straggling whales, but got caught in a downpour and aborted that touristic event. Back at the motel we did see many Lorikeets when the owner brought out the bread soaked in maple syrup (the birds are conniseurs and have rejected simple bread and honey)
