Day 37 - Franz Joseph Glacier
Left Punakaiki travelling down the West Coast. All the way we were struck with the inconguity of seeing snow covered mountains while driving through tropical rain forest. Stopped for lunch at Oratiki Lagoon where there is a White Heron Colony... but we only saw two Oystercatchers. At FRanz Joseph we walked to the foot of the glacier - nearly 2 hour walk there and back.
