Panama Canal Cruise - 2008
Palatka, Florida
We arrived in Orlando about 1930 and had no trouble getting our bags and finding the Budget desk... however the expected car was not ready. After waiting for about 30 minutes we decided to take a smaller car - a Chevy Malibu which turned out to be just fine. We got on our way about 2045 and stopped for a MacDonalds dinner at the I-95 just before 2200. As you might guess, given the generosity of airline fare now, we were a mite peckish. We got to our Best Western Motel in Palatka about 2330 and were definitely ready for a good night's rest.
The weather in Palatka was gorgeous (by our standards) and it was delightful to walk around the gardens and admire all the flowers, and oranges, limes, and grapefruit on the trees. After sitting on the dock for an hour chatting with Whit I discovered that thinning hair does not protect the scalp very well from the sun's rays!
