Day 50 - Daydream Island & Airlie Beach
Travel day from Airlie Beach to Rockhamptom and the Fitzroy Motor Lodge (off the busy highway...). Unfortunately, Fitzroy Avenue might just as well have been called 'the busy highway'. Had to request a change in rooms to a quieter part of the motel. Free internet but no toaster of microwave. Gordon is accused of choosing motels on the basis of 'free internet'.
The drive was fairly monotonous but we clearly progressed from tropical forests to Eucalyptus tree forests. Saw warning signs for koalas, but no wild beasties sighted. Also lots of warnings for flooding in regions where sugar cane is grown.
